Back to the Future

I found some old pictures when searching for documents under my bed.. covered in dust.I am only 5 in these pictures but my mum thinks i still look the same!I remember having them taken at a friends place across the road where we lived. It was scary at the time but it turned out to be pretty fun. My first ever photo shoot :) I love the close up at the top of this page. Which one do you like?

I know i should be constantly blogging about vintage but its nice just to write about something different for a change - plus its my blog right? i can write whatever i like?

I have been doing alot of thinking lately about whats next for Claire Louise Vintage and i have got a few good ideas. I just need to make a plan of action.Whether i decide to do markets... put my clothing in a store somewhere or even just in my spare room at home (if we ever get approved for a home loan!!) Ive been pleasantly surprised about the reactions I've been getting from the locals in Jervis Bay who keep telling me they like or love what I'm wearing. so i decided to invite anyone who said they want to come and have a look at the pile of vintage i have in my sewing room/office/looks like a bomb went off room haha, its as tidy as can be with make shift clothes rack because my crappy k-mart racks broke because the clothes are to heavy... what a crock! What kind of clothes rack cant hold clothes??

Those of you whom don't know me very well i also run another business. I used to be a beauty therapist when i lived in Queensland (wishing i started CLV up there) i started my mobile spray tanning business. It is now called, funnily enough Jervis Bay Tanning.I'm very motivated and excited about working for myself. Not just for CLV but for JB tanning as well. That's why i love summer because your always out on weekends with bronzed bodies all around, laying about in the sun, going out for coffee and lunch with my favourites and generally having a ball. After all we are here for a good time , not a long time right?

Onto business now. I know it seems like I'm always updating my status's on Facebook about when listing are going on and when listing are ending but its my only way of advertising to my customers and fans.I use twitter as well, its fun to see what random things people get up to during there days... and obviously how bored they are updating there stats every hour of the day.

Here are a few pics of the European vintage i now have available on eBay and the starting prices are from $40.00. Very cheap in my eyes girls so if you are stuck trying to find something to wear to a garden party, a BBQ or a night out on the town you will defiantly turn heads wearing one of these beauties, trust me Ive done it.
If anyone would like to leave me a comment on there thoughts of what they'd like to see in the future you can email me via clairelouisevintage@yahoo.com or simply leave me comment :)

Classic Beauty

Today after seeking some inspiration i came across some stunning pictures of who is said to have been "the most beautiful women of all time" - Audrey Hepburn.
I must admit i cant argue this claim, just look at the grace and beauty in her photographs :)
Even by looking at the pictures you can see the down to earth side to her and the delicateness she exudes. Something you don't see much these days.
I found an article that showed that like me her star sign in Taurus and here is what was described..

With your natural character, you are enough to be liked by the surroundings. Also on business, you master the skill speedy with your good sense. You can acquire the trust because of your good behavior to grow up. Don't be swayed too much by the thought of immediate gain. And make an action with an eye to what will come. Since you are a natural wise person, with getting the favor of a lot of people, you can be successful.

To look the inside of your affable attitude, you are quite proud. And if you disgrace yourself, you are shocked in terrible. As you are unyielding and make yourself look as big as possible. In the close relation of, you give full play to your natural humor, your personality of affable appears. You are so unyielding that once you begin to do the thing, you never throw it away. You are a person who persistently make efforts to carry it out. Once you get an inspiration, you head-on toward your goal without any cautions. Do attention, not to be deceived.

I found while reading this, it has a lot of my personality traits and even though it isn't the best written piece it shows me that not only are we all human but we all have our own quirky way of making our way in this life.

If you want to win a pair of amazing sungasses like i do follow this link to House of Maryannes Vintage.
IM IN LOVE WITH THEM!

Thursday

Last thursday i had a trip to Sydney to purchase some imported vintage from europe and japan. I was excited but nervous to see what was in those big boxes and came out with 40 stunning one offs that i know i'd never be able to get my hands on in Australia. An added plus is that there in no hemming or sewing involved. The only downside is that i want to keep every single piece.
They are on eBay right now and 20 special pieces i thought i'd put up as but it now prices as i've had a few request to B.I.N over the past few weeks. So this is my first attempt so wish me luck.I like the thought ive finding something and falling in love with and being able to purchase it right there and then without running the risk of being out bid at the very last minute.

Ive started my own Chictopia blog you can view it here. Here are some new photos ive just uploaded and im already getting some lovely feedback and friend requests :)

This STUNNING euro vintage dress is available for purchase and you can find it in my ebay store by following this direct link. Happy browsing.

N A N A S C H I N A

While we were shooting our new collection that is due out next week we took some photos with these two vintage hats i found over my few days of op shopping.
Its a shame i didnt find them before melbourne cup day, even though i didnt celebrate by going out all dresses up, instead i visited my friend and her baby, we had a few glasses of wine some cheese, grapes, strawberries and nuts... mmm! I did however on my way to her house while stopping at the bottle shop i got a tip off the ladY who owns it,she recommended i pick Americain, so i called sam 10 minutes before the race and i ended up wining $140.00!! which all went to new stock :) so happy! Im going back to the bottle shop next year and asking what she recommends.

Today when i was blow drying my hair my dad came upstairs and was ratting around inside a cupboard that has my nans(his mothers) old tea cups and pots, they are absolutley gorgeous and i asked him what he was looking for but he didnt answer. When i got down stairs i saw he had them in a box and i said what are you doing with those? he said he was going to give them away!!! Lucky i was here today otherwise i would have looked in the cupboard when we move out and they would have been gone :( He didnt know i wanted to keep them i could tell he was sort of shocked at my persisting of wanting to keep them, one day i would love to put them on display and eventually use them when i have friends over. There is no room upstairs at my parents house and thats the only reason they're in the cupboard.Just like everything else!!

Oh and by the way the tea cups happen to be made in england and china, so if my dad wants to steal them he can try but im sure my nans is watching over us, making sure we keep them in the family for many more years to come :)
My nans a champ she has left us with a sewing machine, gorgeous tea sets and lovely memories oh yeah and my beautiful dad too.

NOVEMBER RAINS

November has started and the rain hasnt stopped. Its a nice excuse to have plenty of tea and chocolates but not so good when you want to go out and its damp cold and miserable. Pinning ironing and sewing gets done alot faster when its raining, i guess when its sunny out i tend to procastinate about sewing which is just delaying the inevitable.

I have found some great stock of late, ive decided to lower the amount of items i purchase until i get more of a following which is slowly getting there.
Im finding it easier and easier to source stock close to home and i dont think i could be happier, especially when i beat the other owners of op shops to the dress rack, sounds bad but its a dog eat dog world really isnt it.

Im so so so excited that ive been waiting patiently to find some vintage boots and yesterday i found two pairs-one flat pair with red tan and green colours and the other i found are high heels and fit me perfectly! Luckily i didnt have to go on ebay and buy some, i hate the wait.

My Sam and i have been house hunting and ive got some pretty exciting months ahead if all goes to plan, so far so good :) I cant wait to have my own space and office to set up, painting and decorating FUN! Im also loving the fact that the suburb we'll be(hopefully) living in is stumbling distance to my good friends place, and family.
My friend Kirst has already volunteered to come help paint walls, actually she said we can paint out names on the walls which would be fun but not so decorative.

All ebay listings that i have up now are half previous stock half new stock. All previous stock has been discount so get in and have a look... this is the lowest prices ive ever had so dont miss out :) xx
