Bait Footwear

The shoe shop of my dreams is now my woken reality.
Bait footwear (Becomes Another Innocent Tale)

Living in a small town where the local pub is about the only place my friends and I can be bothered to go to, picking the right shoe is something most of the people who go to the pub don't think twice about. Me on the other hand, I have already realised I'm probably going to be the overdressed one like every other day in my life. Not because I want to stand out, quite the opposite actually. I want to blend in but still wear the clothes I love. Its a hard position to be in.
Dressing nicely but not wanting to be noticed.
 Weird I know.

Most of the time when trying to decide which pair to wear, I spend a while clonking around the house in 2 different shoes, each leg at different lengths, looking at them at all possible angles and picking the ones I do purely because of how they make me feel but mostly on how much longer they make my poor little legs look.
*Sigh*

Flashbacks

I was going through a whole heap of old pictures taken a few years ago now, when my mother and I first started this whole thing. Since my computer has crashed Ive been using my mums at the store to keep up to date with my tafe work and read and go gaga over all the beautiful pictures ive seen lately from the super successful blogger's. Blogger's like Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper, Zanita and Tuula Vintage. They have the best jobs in the world.
Its nice to go back to the humble beginning's and draw some inspiration from it. I need it after seeing picture after picture on instagram of the girls I mentioned above in Paris. A city I cannot wait to get back to.

Do you follow any bloggers who have the similar lives? If so let me know, or leave your blog address below. Im always on the look out for more people I can follow :)

Brighton Huts

Last week we went to Melbourne for the first time. Its my birthday on the 27th and we planned to escape the fuss of having to tell people what i want for my birthday and awkward phone calls.

We actually drove from NSW and it ended up taking longer then expected, like 12 hours. Although, i was with good company. Sam and I love to play silly games like making up song lyrics,we google weird things and Sam loves to drive like a race car driver just to scare me/make me laugh. Which means endless hours of me whinging for him to slow down and stop "apexing" around corners.

My highlight, which to others might seem quite boring was going to the Brighton Beach huts 10 minutes from where we stayed in St Kilda. Even getting sand it my shoes was exciting! Well not really..
We walked, skipped and jumped around taking snaps of each other and a lovely lady who was not very talented took the last picture of us kissing which unfortunately turned out blurry. Wheres Sacco from Evoke images when you need him!?

Apart from the huts we had a kind of 'Hangover' the movie kind of night on ANZAC day. At one point in the night we had met a guy in the navy, his weird cousin with a beard, a lesbian, two gay guys and an Italian man named Luigi. His fathers name was Mario ironically! It was such a crazy unplanned night and we made some good friends which were so lovely and a lot of fun.

We'll be going back again one day for sure.

Only 17

I started Tafe about 5 weeks ago studying Fashion Design and Technology and I'm really enjoying it so far. The first little shorts i made are from a small square embroidered tablecloth. I had a small amount of info from my Tafe teacher (who seemed as excited as i did) as how to tackle making them and i never thought they would come out as good as they did. Needless to say I'm proud of myself and you can expect to see more similar clothing in the future.

Im thinking of using one of my favourite photos in the world as my inspiration. Its a picture of my mum when she was 17, shes all shy and smiling with her eyes closed looking so innocent and shes wearing a really beautiful embroidered top.

Who knows i might make one as beautiful as that, one day.

Streets of Paris

I never expected the loud music in the streets near where we stayed in Paris to be  this cute old guy with his.. thing? At first i said to Sam there must be a carnival close by but to my delight and amusement this is what it turned out to be. I want one!! It made my day.

Take me back to Paris

Laduree Paris is apparently the original macaroon store. I was pretty excited!!
I quickly snapped a picture before they insisted on 'no photos'! Boo.. is it really going to kill you?
Consumed under the Arche De Triomphe within minutes. I did share them, promise!

I'm back from my honeymoon/8 week round the world trip and totally depressed and missing many places. One of my favourite places was, you guessed it, Paris. I could never imagined how much i would fall in love with the Eiffel Tower too. I could have stared at that thing for hours more then i already did. Eating baguettes, drinking copious amounts of cosmos and eating macaroons and escargot. Yes Snails!  If we're lucky we'll venture back to Paris again soon.

Tomorrow is a new day

 Fresh flowers make me happy

Red lippy and Bettie Page on a Monday makes Mondays enjoyable!
Beauiful vintage dresses are on their way

I thought id tell everyone what was going on as i have announced on fb that our beloved little vintage store in Huskisson will no longer be open. Naturally i am disappointed and a little depressed about it but at the same time I'm looking forward to seeing what the future will bring. I have put 24/7 thoughts and efforts into the shop, absolute 100% dedication. I am very proud of what we have achieved so far and i basically want to clear up that our business has been successful and that we are not closing down completely.
As well as keeping it online I am in the process of finding another position to start again.

With thousands of dollars of stock and determination like never before i believe that we will find our place once again and i want to thank everyone who has supported us since we opened in July last year.
I have had so many lovely comments and well wishes which means alot to me and my mum.

Tomorrow is a new day.
